Low Fat, High Protien…but High in Carbs?

January 11, 2009

Ok so I need to shed a few pounds, real quick and in a hurry. I am a 24yr old male, 5'9 around 185-190. I have been eating alot of Boco Burgers and Chicken on hamburger buns, they are high in protien and low in fat which is good right, but am I getting too many carbs? How will this effect my weight loss? I am pretty active at my job, I don't get the luxury of a chair or anything. Also I have been trying to eat about 2 Boco Burgers for 2 out of my 3 meals a day.

Also, if you can give me any extra detials on soy, I would much appreciate, thanks!

Don't be afraid of carbs. Please don't pay attention to all of the "carb killing" that is going on in the media and with all of these fad diets right now. Your body needs carbs. Period. Sure you can cut them back a little bit, but don't demonize them. As long as you are active you will be fine. Are you working out at all to supplement your change in diet? If you don't have a gym membership then go out to your local High School track and run a couple of miles a day. You'll shed it in no time. And also remember to drink plenty of water, and stay away from anything with added sugar. You'll be suprised at how much weight you lose when you are properly hydrated.
