How should I go about losing body fat?

May 16, 2009

I’m currently a 15 year old girl with a slightly athletic body type (naturally toned). I personally think I’m of the average body type and weight (128lbs, at 5″3), but my body fat percentage is in the 30s which i think isn’t healthy. Please give me some advice or diet plans to help me lose some body fat.

Losing body fat is really not as difficult as it may seem. It all comes down to making changes in your lifestyle. You have developed habits that work against your fight to lose weight and until you make changes you will not see those pounds drop off.

With the following five top tips you will lose body fat like never before. You may also find that making these changes is easier than you think because they are small changes that you can easily adjust to. It may take some determination on your part, but you can do it.

Tip 1

Do high intensity aerobic activity. Your aerobic exercise should take you to your target heart rate and then bring you back down and then return to that target rate. Doing it like this will help you burn fat away. Your aerobic activity should be intense. You should really push your body and make it work.

Tip 2

Avoid foods that are not good for you. You probably know when you eat something if it is a healthy choice or not. Simply avoid those things that are not good for you. Skip on the salt, carbs, sugar and fat. You do not need it and it does nothing for your body but slows it down and adds fat.

Tip 3

Make sure you eat a lot of protein. Protein helps your body build muscle. Make sure it is lean protein. Avoid dairy based protein and fatty meats. Try lean cuts and protein in the form of chicken and fish. Make sure you are getting a little protein at every meal.

Tip 4

Add weights to your exercise. Using weights makes your body burn more calories. Weights also build muscle. Muscle burns calories even when you are not exercising. Adding some hand weights to your aerobic exercise is simple and it will have a big impact.

Tip 5

Keep motivated. You can not get anywhere if you do not stick with it. You have to work out five to six days a week and never let up on your diet. If you miss a day of exercise or eat something you should not then just let it go and get right back into your routine as soon as possible. One mistake is not the end of the world but if you let it get you down then you will begin losing the progress you have made.
